Just discovered this hidden gem in Riccarton, Christchurch — a Chinese takeaway spot offering a 4-dish combo for only $15. It works like the food court classic Hungry Wok, but the flavours are way more authentic and tailored for Chinese tastes. Tons of options to choose from, freshly cooked and steaming hot. From what I saw (and tasted!): • Spicy chicken, tomato-braised chicken, mapo tofu • Stir-fried black fungus and cabbage, sautéed shredded potatoes, dry-fried green beans • Soy-braised eggplant, Chinese-style scrambled eggs, twice-cooked pork, home-style pork stew… You choose one base (white rice, fried rice, or fried noodles) and three hot dishes, all served fast and generously. The flavours are bold and savoury — not overly sweet like Westernised Asian food — perfect for a real Chinese meal. Staff speaks Mandarin, super friendly and quick service. Perfect for students, workers, or anyone who wants a filling, flavourful lunch or dinner. Located right near Riccarton’s shopping area, so you can grab a hot meal before or after errands. Takeaway boxes are sturdy and packed to the brim. Great value, authentic taste, and fast service — what more do you need?

$15 for a choice of 4 delicious Chinese dishes and rice + extra rice refill. Best value for money. Downside: the dishes can be too salty.
